Is the software made in Switzerland?+
Yes! Bill Alps is designed, developed and hosted entirely in Switzerland. The company behind it — WAP Sàrl — is based in the canton of Fribourg, more precisely in Domdidier. We are committed to Swiss quality and data sovereignty.
Where is my data stored?+
All your data is stored in Switzerland, in compliance with the new Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP). We take privacy seriously and never share your information with third parties.
How do I create an account?+
It takes less than a minute. You can sign up with your email address, your Google account, or your LinkedIn account — no credit card required for the free plan.
Can I switch from another invoicing solution?+
Absolutely. You can import your existing client data and start creating invoices right away. The interface is intuitive and designed to be easy to pick up even if you have never used invoicing software before.
Can I cancel anytime? Can I export my data?+
Yes to both. There is no lock-in and no cancellation fee. You can export all your data (clients, invoices, reports) at any time in standard formats (CSV, JSON). Your data belongs to you.
What is a Swiss QR-Bill?+
The QR-Bill is the Swiss standard for payment slips since 2022. It replaces the old orange and red payment slips (BVR/ESR). Every invoice in Switzerland should now include a QR code that contains all payment information, making it easy for your clients to pay via their banking app. Bill Alps generates compliant QR-Bills automatically.
Who is Bill Alps for?+
Bill Alps is built for Swiss micro-SMEs, growing small businesses, and fiduciaries that need QR-bills, monthly payroll, and ready-to-use Form 11 data without adopting a heavyweight ERP.
Is the application accessible and multilingual?+
Yes. Bill Alps is available in French, German and English, reflecting Switzerland's multilingual reality. The interface is designed with accessibility in mind, with clear contrasts, keyboard navigation, and screen reader support.
Which social contributions are calculated automatically?+
Bill Alps automatically calculates all mandatory Swiss social contributions: AHV/IV/EO (old-age, disability, loss of earnings), unemployment insurance (ALV), occupational pension (BVG), non-occupational accident insurance (UVG) and daily sickness benefits (KTG). Rates are updated every year.
How does Bill Alps help with collective agreements?+
You can assign an agreement to the company or an individual employee and select the wage category. Depending on the available data, Bill Alps displays minimum wages, suggests settings and flags differences involving the 13th salary, holidays, daily sickness allowance and absences. These checks are advisory: always confirm the agreement's scope and official source.
Which cantons are supported for withholding tax?+
Bill Alps supports the official withholding tax scales for all 26 Swiss cantons. Tax scales are applied automatically based on the employee's canton of residence.
Can I generate the annual salary certificate?+
Not yet. We don't generate the annual salary certificate (Lohnausweis) automatically at the moment. However, Bill Alps provides all the information you need to fill it in easily yourself.
Can I create recurring invoices?+
Yes. Starter includes 1 active recurring invoice. Team and Business unlock unlimited recurring invoices with weekly, monthly, quarterly, twice-a-year or yearly cadence.
Can I generate invoice lines automatically with AI?+
Yes. Starter includes 5 AI generations per month. Paste a screenshot (quote, timesheet, email) or plain text into the AI assistant: invoice lines are extracted in seconds. Team and Business raise the monthly quota.
Can I subscribe to a single module?+
Yes. Invoicing & quotes, Payroll and Accounting are chosen independently: one module costs CHF 15 per month on Team or CHF 29 on Business, two modules CHF 24 or 49, and the full Suite (all three) CHF 29 or 59. You can add or remove a module at any time from your account; the change is prorated.
What happens if I remove a module from my subscription?+
Nothing is deleted. The module stays usable at the Starter (free) plan limits: for example 10 clients and 20 invoices per month for invoicing, or 100 bank rows per month for accounting. Your data stays in place and you can re-enable it whenever you want.
Is there a discount for yearly billing?+
Yes: yearly billing includes 2 months free. The Team full Suite comes to CHF 290 a year instead of 348, and the Business Suite to CHF 590 instead of 708. You can switch from monthly to yearly from your account.
Does the Accounting module replace my accountant?+
No, it lightens their load. Your expenses and bank transactions are captured, categorised and reconciled all year long; your accountant receives clean data, ready for the year-end closing.
